About Us
Jake and Bree met one night at a club when a friend introduced us. We clicked right away. Over time we started talking more, hanging out on our own, and before long our relationship began to grow into something special.
Our first date was in Greeley, Colorado. Bree met Jake’s parents that very first day. She was nervous, but grateful to have that time with Char, Jake’s late mother, and to get to know her as much as possible. After meeting Jake’s parents, we went to a model train museum and, in true Jake fashion, finished the day with pizza.
At Hudson Gardens, tucked away near where we will be married, there is a little model train display. Finding it felt like a perfect surprise, a small echo of that first date and a reminder of how our story began.
After that first date, we just kept finding reasons to spend time together. We went on adventures across Colorado and beyond, from zoos to botanical gardens, from LANfest to quiet moments in nature. With each trip, each shared experience, we grew closer and more certain that we wanted to spend our lives together.
One of those adventures brought us our “beast,” Kuma.
The first nights with him were rough, with very little sleep, but we got through it together and now we love him with all our hearts. Our floof is ridiculously silly and loves to cuddle. Since Jake is Kuma’s favorite person, Bree sometimes has to fight for her share of the cuddles, but there is nothing better than all three of us piled together on the couch.
Our lives are full of adventure, silliness, cuddles, and love. As we look toward marriage, we are excited to spend the rest of our lives together. Whatever comes our way, we know we can handle it as a team (cheesy, but Jake really does love cheese).
